Dozens of North Cornwall Conservative members and supporters joined candidate Scott Mann for the official launch of his 2024 General Election campaign.
The packed Camelford Conservative club heard speeches from senior local members and the candidate Scott Mann, who is seeking a fourth successive election victory in North Cornwall following a record-breaking win in 2019, securing a 14,752 majority.
Despite the pandemic and significant world events, Scott has delivered on his promises to bring NHS services closer to home, citing the 40,000 scans at the new Community Diagnostic Centre as proof of what a committed local champion can achieve.
However, Scott sees the STEM Skills Centre in Bodmin as his top achievement of the past five years.
“Delivering the Skills Centre is something that will ensure children from North Cornwall, some of whom we have here at the election launch, don’t have to travel away from home to seek degree-level apprenticeships," said Scott Mann.
“We now have a world-class education facility in Bodmin that was an empty field when I first came into Parliament. Despite all the challenges we have faced as a community during the pandemic, I am proud that this Conservative Government had the vision to invest in North Cornwall’s future.”
Scott and the Conservatives face a challenge from several parties, with a full slate of candidates on the ballot this July, but the challenge does not phase Scott.
Barry Jordan, Cornwall Councillor and North Cornwall Conservative Association member said:
“Completely ineffective representation from the previous MP led to Scott’s election in 2015, I hear they are now on their second-choice candidate after the first one they selected threw in the towel and went to stand in Devon.
“They have no proper plans, no vision and thankfully, zero hope of forming a government under Ed Davey.
"Vote for Scott Mann on the 4th of July."
