Scott is 37, has a young family and he was born and raised in Wadebridge where he attended school. Scott works as a postman out of the Wadebridge sorting office which he has done since leaving St Austell College. He is also the Cornwall Councillor for Wadebridge West.
Shortly after getting married Scott’s parents moved into a council house in Wadebridge where Scott was born. Both Scott’s parents are now retired.
Scott’s father Eugene grew up in Bodmin on the Moor View Estate. Scott’s paternal grandmother used to be a lifeguard at Bodmin pool. Scott’s father worked as a boat builder for 25 years building sailing boats. He introduced Scott to his passion for boats and Scott and his brother along with their father have completed a number of boatbuilding projects together.
Scott’s mother Peggy grew up on the Whitehall Estate in St Kew Highway.
Scott’s maternal grandfather used to take him to Home Park, the home of the mighty Plymouth Argyle, when he was very young. Scott is still an avid supporter of the Green Army and takes his daughter to as many matches as he can.
Scott is a keen runner and can be seen running along the Camel trail. He enjoys going to the gym and plays in the Friday night dart league for the Conservative Club in Wadebridge. He taught the residents of Wyndhurst Orchard a retirement/sheltered housing complex in Wadebridge to play poker. He is now regularly beaten by them whenever he gets the opportunity to play. Scott’s other interests include clay pigeon shooting, surfing, golf, football and cricket. He has recently become the Honorary Vice President of Wadebridge Cricket Club. Scott is proud to accept this position and looks forward to Wadebridge Cricket Club having a successful season. Politics aside, Scott’s real passion is fishing. When time permits he can be spotted fly fishing or spinning on the Camel, beach casting in the mouth of the estuary or catching big carp on large lakes. Last year Scott caught a personal best 24lb 2oz mirror carp on a bottom bait.
